Making Order Out of Chaos: Balloon Project September 2022
The students were given the initial task, the challenge, to see if they could fly the Balloon fully from one side of the classroom to the opposite wall.
So they tried!
The others got ready...
And they tried!
And tried again!
That was Chaos!
Now they formed Science groupings of 3 students per group. Mr. Stathis put out spools of string, fishing-line, 1 straw per group and as much scotch tape as they wanted. "Figure-it-out with these," Mr. Stathis challenged.
Groups experimented with various ideas and plans.
With a little bit of a hint from Mr. Stathis, and watching the ideas of other groups, some REAL ORDER began out of the chaos!
Now the FIRST WINNING TEAM SUCCEEDS!
And the 2nd Place Team succeeds!
Order out of Chaos, achieved! All groups eventually accomplished the task!
