Christian and Citlaly were the "richest" students and they saved-up most of their Mandala all year! They had figured-out that by always doing EXTRA work, extra homework, it not only made you smarter, but it also made you richer! The harder you work, the more you get in life. AND, when you have much, you have much to GIVE. Citlaly bought something for her little sibling and Christian bought this expensive Teddy Bear at the Class Store with his Mandala, then immediately told Mr. Stathis he wanted to give it to Mrs. Stathis as a gift!

Mrs. Stathis loved her gift, and was touched in her heart by Christian's kindness.

The Joy of Sharing School-work!

No, that's not Jessica sitting there! To share the Tuesday Sentence-writing Homework, students on Wednesday did "Musical Chairs" and sat in a Classmate's Desk to read each other's creative work.

They then put a Star or their initials by the Sentence they liked best, and the music started again to go to another desk and see someone else's!

Two Families. Mr. Stathis and his family (and dog, Lemonie) visiting one of Mr. Stathis's former students (Leticia) who he had when she was in 3rd Grade in Los Angeles many years before. Leticia remained with Mr. Stathis in his International Folk Dance Club for 5 years, more than any other student, until Mr. Stathis moved back to Alaska. With her Husband and baby girl. Always connected forever with the students I have cared for.
